The AutoSport Difference
AutoSport Collision cares about your safety by providing a quality repair with trained professionals. Our team has over 75 years combined experience in the collision repair industry.
Our professional estimators are here to help you understand the repair process. Working with the insurance company you are using, their goal is to simplify the insurance process for you. From minor scratches to major collision repairs we want to minimize your inconvenience and maximize your satisfaction.
Our auto body and paint professionals are I-CAR certified. What does this mean to you? I-CAR programs are widely recognized as the industry standard for training. Through I-CAR, every person in the collision industry has the necessary technical knowledge and skills relevant to their position to achieve a complete and safe repair.
Paint does make a difference! Our quality begins with Spies Hecker, one of the global refinish coating brands from Axalta Coating Systems. Spies Hecker has been writing paint history for more than 130 years. From coach paint in 1882 to the modern vehicle refinish, Spies Hecker is one of the world’s leading vehicle refinish brands. They have a long tradition of pioneering the major paint developments of the era. Spies Hecker’s high-quality product systems, customized service and targeted training demonstrate its partnership with the refinish industry. We are using their waterborne premium automotive refinish paint.
AutoSport Collision has made a commitment to our environment. We recycle metal, aluminum, cardboard and paper. In 2014 we changed our paint from a solvent-base to Spies Hecker, a waterborne paint.
Why is this important? A waterborne paint reduces the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), thus improving air quality and reducing the health risk to all involved.
Our new paint booth was manufactured by Global Finishing Solutions. GFS leads the way in paint booth innovation, and is dedicated to providing the most energy-efficient and ecologically friendly paint environments.
AutoSport Collision is committed to our environment and our customers!
AutoSport Collision is a family owned business that Patrick Weber started in Golden, CO in April of 1979. Pat is the third generation of his family to be involved in the auto industry here in Golden.
Chris Weber, Patís grandfather, was a mechanic at Craig-Fredrick Chevrolet. Patís dad Jack also became a mechanic and ran the full service Standard Oil Gas Station until 1959. At that time Chris, Jack and his wife Wilma established Weber Automotive. The shop was located at Ulysses Street and South Golden Road.
Pat grew up in the mechanical repair environment helping his family at Weber Automotive. But Pat decided to go a slightly different direction and began focusing on auto body paint and repair. In 1979, Pat opened AutoSport Collision in a building behind Weber Automotive. In 1985 Jack and Wilma retired. With the closing of Weber Automotive, Pat was able to expand AutoSport Collision. In 1998 AutoSport was displaced to make room for the Golden Towne Center. Pat moved to a temporary location on Fifth Ave near the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. In July 1999 ground was broken for a new larger facility at the current location of 17509 South Golden Road. AutoSport Collision moved into its new building in early 2000.
In an article printed by the Golden Transcript on July 16, 1999, Pat was quoted as saying "Iím in this for the duration, Iíll be here awhile".
Patís focus is helping his customers by making a major inconvenience as convenient as possible. "I like serving people with a problem to solve."
That is what the professional team at AutoSport Collision is still doing today!
